The 2026 LIV Golf season is set to begin in February in Riyadh, and while several teams have already finalized their rosters, Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC still has one open spot. Teams such as Cleeks GC, Majesticks GC and Fireballs GC have added new players but Mickelson’s side is yet to confirm its final lineup.

HyFlyers GC currently features Mickelson, Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale. Andy Ogletree was relegated at the end of the 2025 season and will not return unless re-signed leaving the team with a vacancy. After finishing fifth last season and failing to win a single team title HyFlyers GC could be looking to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.

Here are five golfers who could realistically join HyFlyers GC for the 2026 LIV Golf season.

Five golfers who could realistically join HyFlyers GC for the 2026 LIV Golf season

1. Ollie Schniederjans

Ollie Schniederjans has already built strong ties with the LIV setup. He finished T4 at the LIV Golf Promotions event in December 2024 narrowly missing out on a full-time spot but earning exemptions into all Asian Tour International Series events in 2025.

He later joined LIV as a reserve player and made his debut as a substitute for Mickelson in Riyadh. Schniederjans also won the International Series India by four strokes over Bryson DeChambeau and was named Asian Tour Rookie of the Year making him a strong candidate for a permanent role.

2.Elvis Smylie

Elvis Smylie is set to join the Saudi-backed league ahead of the 2026 season but he has not yet been assigned to a team. The World No. 127 could be an option for HyFlyers GC as they look to add fresh talent.

Smylie finished in the ‘Open Zone,’ meaning his contract was not renewed, and he will attempt to secure his 2026 status at the LIV Golf Promotions event in Florida, where three cards are available. On the DP World Tour last year he posted a T8 finish at the Australian Open and a T19 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship.

3. Scott Vincent

Scott Vincent has already earned his return to LIV Golf after topping the International Series Rankings on the Asian Tour in late 2025. The Zimbabwean claimed one of the two promotion spots and sealed his place with a T42 finish at the PIF Saudi International.

Vincent previously competed in LIV before being relegated and 2026 will mark his second stint in the league. His recent form and familiarity with the LIV format could make him a useful addition to Mickelson’s team.

4.Yosuke Asaji

Yosuke Asaji claimed the second LIV promotion spot through the International Series Rankings, finishing behind Vincent among eligible players. The Japanese golfer ended the season with 285.30 points.

His steady performances across the series helped him secure his place in the league. If HyFlyers GC are looking for consistency and depth, Asaji could be a practical option.

5.Thorbjørn Olesen

Thorbjørn Olesen could also be a name to watch. Although he has not shown any public interest in joining LIV Golf, his time on the PGA Tour has not produced the results many expected. Since joining in 2013, he has yet to win a title and has not finished inside the top 25 at any major.

Currently ranked 97th in the OWGR, Olesen had a better run on the DP World Tour last year, recording two top-10 finishes. A move to LIV could offer him a fresh start, and HyFlyers GC may benefit from his experience.
