Trump offers $1,000 to Illegal Immigrants who choose to self-deport using new app

A new DHS program allows undocumented immigrants to self-deport with financial and travel assistance.

The Trump administration is launching a new initiative aimed at encouraging self-deportation.

It offers $1,000 to undocumented immigrants who voluntarily leave the United States through a mobile app.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the program, calling it a “historic opportunity” for undocumented migrants. It allows them to return home safely without facing detention or deportation by ICE.

Applicants can use the CBP Home App to schedule travel and confirm departure.

Upon verified return, participants will receive a $1,000 stipend from the U.S. government.

Self-deportation using new app helps save taxpayer money

According to DHS, self-deportation saves taxpayer money and reduces law enforcement risk

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem emphasized that this approach is safer and cheaper than traditional enforcement. It also reduced costs and protected both migrants and officers.

‘If you are here illegally, self-deportation is the best, safest and most cost-effective way to leave the United States to avoid arrest,’ stated Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

‘This is the safest option for our law enforcement, aliens and is a 70% savings for US taxpayers.’

Voluntary departure could benefit future reentry for eligible migrants.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), individuals who begin the voluntary self-deportation process may be deprioritized for ICE enforcement.

This applies if they actively cooperate with the program.

The DHS also stated that participation in the program could improve an individual’s chances for legal reentry into the United States.

However, this depends on each person’s specific circumstances and level of compliance.

Recently, an undocumented migrant traveled from Chicago to Honduras using the program.

Trump stays quiet on policy details but posts about border crackdown

The Us president Donald Trump has not directly commented on the program but promoted his broader immigration crackdown on social media Monday.

In a video post, Trump claimed, “My administration has launched the most sweeping border and immigration crackdown in American history.”

The video was captioned: “PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT.”

Earlier that day, he reshared a 2016 post eating a taco bowl at Trump Tower.

He wrote: “I love Hispanics!”—a likely nod to Latino voters amid immigration headlines.
