Remember That Time Katt Williams Apologized to Kevin Hart? – Oh, You Forgot? | WATCH

*Despite things being very tense between Kevin Hart and Katt Williams, there was a time, believe it or not, when the “Friday After Next” star extended an olive branch to his fellow funnyman.

According to Vibe, footage of the apology was captured on video via Spank Horton, a comedian and member of Hart’s Plastic Cup Boyz. In the 2016 clip, Williams is shown apologizing to Hart after apologizing to Big Tigger for an unnamed discretion.

“I also owe a humongous apology to Kevin Hart…When I did a show at Philips [Arena] I kind of lost myself and I didn’t do my stand-up performance,” Williams stated.”

I actually did an hour of talking to Atlanta ’cause I love Atlanta and made a lot of mistakes and said a lot of things that just be in Katt Williams’ head, but I was not talking to the world, I was talking to the city of Atlanta, and I should’ve never mentioned Kevin Hart’s name. That is the reigning king of comedy if you ask for popular consensus.”

The discovery of Horton’s video comes more than a week after Williams raised eyebrows with heavy criticism of Hart, Steve HarveyCedric the Entertainer and Michael Blackson. The revelations from Williams’ candid interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast has generated headlines as well as talk among comedy fans regarding the entertainer’s views on his iconic peers. Speaking about Hart, Williams called the “Central Intelligence” star the Cardi B of comedy, an “industry plant.”

Realizing how divided the nation was at the time of the video, Williams examined his conduct towards Hart. Ultimately, Williams recognized he should not have attacked another black man, considering the state of the nation at that time.

“The fact that I, while being on stage pretending to be higher than that, would then stoop down to the same level and try to embarrass Kevin Hart in front of his children and loved ones after all the hard work he’s done since the year 2002 is just regrettable on my part, so I humbly apologize to not only Kevin Hart but HartBeat Production, The Plastic Cup Boyz, and anybody associated with Kevin Hart,” the comedian said

Williams later acknowledged his mistake in attacking Hart, considering his love for the “Ride Along” actor’s ex-wife Torrei Hart. Vibe noted her recent announcement of touring with Williams. Despite his regret over bad-mouthing Kevin Hart, Williams stood by his opinion.

“I didn’t make a total mistake, I meant to cut the snake, but I meant to cut the head of the snake,” he said, before labeling Chris Rock a “coon” and twisting the title of Rock’s 1999 special “Bigger And Blacker” to create a comedy special called “Smaller And Brighter.”
