The American fired 27 aces and had the upper hand behind the first serve. However, he struggled behind the second and lost serve four times from 13 chances presented to his rival.

Opelka played well ince they continued and generated two more match points. His rival denied them and held for 5-5 and more drama. Francisco gained a boost and grabbed a break in game 11 to build a crucial advantage.

The American required a medical timeout, explaining he felt dizzy and needed sugar. Lahyani reminded him they had a 45-minute break and called the supervisor to make a decision.
