The LIV star who was named as the worst playing partner on the PGA Tour in 2019 when 52 players voted

Back in 2019, an unofficial anonymous survey was conducted among 52 PGA Tour players.

Interestingly, the 52 PGA Tour players who took part in the survey overwhelmingly voted for someone who now plies his trade on LIV Golf as the worst person to play alongside.

LIV completely turned the golfing landscape on its head back when the Saudi-backed outfit emerged onto the scene in 2022.

Numerous big-names jumped ship to join the new golf league, and over the past few years there seemingly hasn’t been any progress regarding a partnership between the two tours.

As things stand, there will be no merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. There is definitely still some animosity between certain players from both tours.

So perhaps it should be no surprise that one LIV golfer was named as the worst person to play with on the PGA Tour six years ago.

Bryson DeChambeau who was once named as the worst playing partner on the PGA Tour

Bryson DeChambeau was one of the biggest names to jump ship from the PGA Tour in 2022.

Back in January 2024, DeChambeau actually predicted a LIV and PGA Tour unification would be imminent.

However, he has been proven completely wrong in that regard so far.

It’s fair to assume that many of the PGA Tour players may not even want the 32-year-old back playing with them regularly anyway.

In 2019, Golf.com conducted an anonymous survey among 52 PGA Tour players.

One of the questions they asked was: who is your least favorite playing partner on Tour?

And DeChambeau was named as the worst person to play alongside, after receiving 21% of the 52 votes.

The 32-year-old has changed his attitude since his PGA Tour days and seems to be much more popular now than he was then.

That said, the ‘old Bryson’ still comes out every now and again, leading to suggestions that his new persona is nothing more than an act.

2nd and 3rd worst playing partners on the PGA Tour in 2019 revealed

DeChambeau was named as the least popular playing partner, but second and third place went to two current PGA Tour players.

Rory Sabbatini was voted as the second-worst playing partner.

Meanwhile, Scotsman Martin Laird ended up in third position in the voting.

Sabbatini is a renowned hot-head on the golf course, while Laird’s pace of play is known to be on the slow side.

However, DeChambeau still stood head and shoulders above both players when 52 PGA Tour golfers voted for who was the worst playing partner.
