LSU’s decision to fire Brian Kelly after a 7–5 season has reopened painful wounds for the family of late wide receiver Kyren Lacy. His father, Kenny Lacy, took to Facebook on Monday and blasted Kelly for his alleged lack of empathy following his son’s death earlier this year.
According to Kenny, newly appointed interim head coach Frank Wilson personally visited the Lacy family, offering what he called “real, genuine love.” Lacy’s father wrote,
“This dude actually came sit down with our family and showed us some real genuine love when my son died along with a couple other coaches. I didn’t even get a call or text from that dude in the back. Must be nice to get paid millions to get your walking papers. Let’s get it coach Frank.”

Lacy played three seasons under Kelly at LSU. He died in April from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, one day before a grand jury hearing related to a fatal car crash case.
Kelly did comment publicly after Lacy’s death, saying the receiver would be remembered for his “love for the game” and “great emotion.” But Kenny’s post paints a contrasting picture of how badly LSU’s former coach handled a tragedy that rocked the college football program in Baton Rouge.

Ryan Clark apologizes for wrong reporting in Kyren Lacy case
Ryan Clark publicly apologized for his comments about late LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy. He admitted failing to present the whole truth about the player’s case. The former NFL safety addressed the issue on ‘ESPN’s First Take,’ three days after his initial remarks went viral.
Clark earlier claimed that Lacy was wrongly accused in a fatal December car crash that took the life of 78-year-old Herman Hall. He alleged that authorities “manipulated” evidence to implicate Lacy. However, after reviewing the latest investigative findings, Clark walked back those claims.
“In full transparency, I knew Kyren personally,” Clark stated. “But nothing matters to me more than the truth. I didn’t meet that standard Monday night, and for that, I apologize.”
According to newly released data, Lacy’s vehicle was more than 70 yards behind the crash site and already back in his proper lane of travel, which contradicted earlier reports.
