Travis Kelce showed his fiancée Taylor Swift his dominant self against the Washington Commanders on Monday, catching six passes for 99 yards and a touchdown. And one particular play left her and one of her best friends swooning like crazy in the stands.

Barely two minutes into the third quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end caught a pass from Patrick Mahomes and carried it 38 yards, well into the opposing 10. Only a well-timed dive tackle by sophomore cornerback Mike Sainristil prevented him from scoring a touchdown, which happened two and a half minutes later via a Kareem Hunt catch.

A camera pointing towards the suite inside Arrowhead Stadium managed to catch a glimpse of Swift hugging Brittany Mahomes and cheering with her as the play was happening:

Later that quarter, Kelce caught this touchdown that he celebrated by doing the dance from the music video of “Fate of Ophelia”, a song from Swift’s latest studio album “The Life of a Showgirl”:

After the game, he expressed his gratitude at being “the old lucky dog” who can produce at a high level even in his mid-30s when speaking with Scott Van Pelt:

“I’m putting on the pads like I’m 15 years old again. I’m loving every single bit of it. …Like one of my coaches said, you’re either a fountain or a drain. You’re either giving me life or taking it out of me.”

Patrick Mahomes praises Travis Kelce after Chiefs beat Commanders on MNF

After the game, Patrick Mahomes had nothing but praise for Travis Kelce. He extolled his teammate as “the True Chief of Chiefs” who set the team culture when addressing reporters backstage:

“I mean, he is the guy that was here before me… He’s the guy that is in the building early, in the building late. And he is the leader of this team.”

Regarding the prospect of the tight end surpassing the franchise overall touchdown record, the quarterback was more than willing to see it happen:

“So to be able to get him that record tying it, let’s go out there and break it now.”

His first chance at breaking that record will be at the Buffalo Bills this coming Sunday.

If he can change one moment in NFL history, it will be from the NFC Championship Game in January 2019. In that game, a highly controversial no-call cost the Saints what would have been Drew Brees’ second Super Bowl visit, where he would have faced Tom Brady and the Patriots.
