Nick Sirianni clears the air on A.J. Brown trade rumors a week after Eagles WR’s cryptic IG post

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni clarified the situation around A.J. Brown on Tuesday as trade rumors around the wide receiver continue to intensify. With Brown reportedly falling out with the coach and quarterback Jalen Hurts, an exit was seen as a strong option.

The rumors of a trade further intensified after the wide receiver made a cryptic post on Instagram last season. However, Sirianni made it known when questioned about it on the “WIP Morning Show” that the situation is now behind the team, with Brown ready to get up and running.

“I think what you’re referring to is probably a couple weeks ago,” Sirianni said. “That was a couple weeks ago. It’s been business as usual. Really excited to get him back on the field. I’ve almost forgotten about what happened a couple of weeks ago.

“Just working on ways to get better. I know he wants to do everything he can do to get back out there. We’re excited to be able to get him back. You can only judge things after your interactions and how they are in the building, and they’ve been great in the building.

“In my interaction, I’m always in communication with all our guys. Obviously, AJ as well. And so, looking forward to when he can get back. I know he wants to get back out there and help us win.”

A.J. Brown, who has been the Eagles’ leading receiver in the last three seasons, has expressed concerns about his target share this season. The wide receiver recorded 1,000+ yards in each of the last three seasons with the team, playing a crucial role in Nick Sirianni’s success.

Nick Sirianni discusses his bye week message to the players

The Philadelphia Eagles will be out of action in Week 9 as they are officially on their bye week, offering much-needed rest. However, Nick Sirianni addressed reporters one final time before the break, stressing that it’s not an opportunity for the team to let up.

“I think it’s so important that we are completely locked in and focused on finding ways to get better,” Sirianni said. “Identifying issues, identifying strengths, and this is a really important week.

“We’ve benefited from this week in the past, whether that be going into playoffs or whether it’s in the regular season. It’s that same motivation and same hunger to do everything that we can do to help improve the football team.”

The Philadelphia Eagles boast a 6-2 record as they embark on their bye, losing to the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants. Nick Sirianni aims to see his team return stronger as they continue their bid to retain the Super Bowl.
