Cowboys Trade Rumors: 3x All-Pro Safety linked to Dallas after Jerry Jones’ latest announcement ahead of deadline

Cowboys Trade Rumors: 3x All-Pro Safety linked to Dallas after Jerry Jones

With just a few hours before the Nov. 4 trade deadline, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones teased that his team has made a significant acquisition. This sparked a frenzy, leaving fans guessing as to who would join the team, as he did not provide any more details on the situation on Monday’s appearance on SiriusXM radio.

With the rumor mill churning about who the mystery player could be, some suggest that it could be three-time First-Team All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. NFL insider John Frascella shared a tweet highlighting this possible situation.

“RUMOR ONLY: Could Minkah Fitzpatrick be the mystery player headed to Jerry Jones and his Dallas Cowboys??” Frascella tweeted.

Even Polymarket Football chimed in on the guessing game.

During this interview on SiriusXM radio, Jerry Jones stated that this mystery player will address some of the issues that the Cowboys have had on the field. They are currently 3-4-1 this season with the hopes of improving their record after potentially winning their Week 9 showdown against the Cardinals on Monday.

The Cowboys traded away star linebacker Micah Parsons to the Packers in the offseason. This decision has cost them heavily on the field, as Brian Schottenheimer’s defense is one of the worst in the league this year. They are ranked 31st in total defense rankings through Week 8, allowing 30 touchdowns on the field.

Thus, the acquisition of a defensive player like Minkah Fitzpatrick would make sense for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. Plus, as per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Dolphins are open to trade offers for the five-time Pro Bowler, even though they just got him via a trade with the Steelers back in June.

In nine games, the safety has tallied a total of 50 tackles and one interception while Mike McDaniel and his team put up a disappointing 2-7 record.

Troy Aikman expresses doubts about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ mystery trade

Before the start of Monday’s game between the Cowboys and the Cardinals, retired three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman expressed his skepticism about his former team’s mystery trade.

“I don’t know what that move is, I don’t know who it might be.” Aikman said. “I think it’s interesting that you announce there’s a trade, but you’re not going to announce who it is. What do they have to give up, and what exactly does that look like? I guess we will all be evaluating that tomorrow sometime.”
