Donald Trump made headlines on Sunday when he was spotted attending the Washington Commanders’ game against the Detroit Lions. But instead of the expected raucous applause, he got only condemnation.
A certain Ron Smith managed to capture the moment the US President was booed by fans when the PA announcer introduced him:
Also, at some earlier point, Air Force One, the Presidential plane, flew over Northwest Stadium. After it happened, Trump told the media:

“Was that the greatest flyover ever? Nobody has ever done a flyover like that… Country is doing well.”
The spectacle comes a day after Trump was reported to have demanded that the Commanders name their new stadium, which is expected to open in 2030, after him. A source told ESPN:
“He has cards to play. He can make it very difficult, through government environmental approvals and other things, to make sure everyone who wants this stadium to be built will join to put his name on it. Trump has plenty of cards to play to get his way.”
And while neither he nor the Commanders have confirmed the report, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has supported the idea:
“That would be a beautiful name, as it was President Trump who made the rebuilding of the new stadium possible.”
Donald Trump had unsavory remarks about Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl LX appearance
In October, Donald Trump had this to say about the announcement that Puerto Rican rapper/singer Bad Bunny would perform at the Super Bowl halftime show:
“This guy does not seem like a unifying entertainer and a lot of folks don’t even know who he is. I never heard of him. … I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy… I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Corey Lewandowski, a top adviser in his presidential campaigns, decried it as “shameful”, even warning that ICE agents would attend.
However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell defended Bad Bunny, saying later that month:
“He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world. That’s what we try to achieve. … We’re confident it’s going to be a great show and that he understands the platform that he’s on. I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment.”
Super Bowl LX will be held on February 8, 2026. Primary media coverage will be on NBC.
