Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson turned a lot of heads on Sunday amid a rough day for quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Vikings hosted the Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium, hoping to win the regular-season matchup against Chicago after they won the season opener with an 11-point comeback fueled by McCarthy.
However, the story was completely different on Sunday. The Vikings didn’t have any rhythm and only scored 17 points (14 in the fourth quarter). The broadcast showed Jefferson visibly frustrated, slamming his helmet on a table on the sideline.
J.J. McCarthy played his fifth NFL game in Week 11. Many were unhappy about his performance, as he went only 16 of 32 for 150 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions.
After a promising start to the season, the quarterback’s level has decreased, and many think he wasn’t ready to carry the burden that comes with a roster like the Vikings’.
Justin Jefferson had a discreet game, too, which could also explain his reaction.
