Aaron Rodgers had a bad outing on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, completing just ten passes for 117 yards and no touchdowns. Then, he left with a nasty injury.

On the first snap of the second half, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was sacked by Joey Bosa:

Later in the broadcast, he was shown bleeding from his nose:

Mason Rudolph briefly took over for him, failing to complete both passing attempts. Rodgers eventually returned, but he would be pulled again on the game’s final drive as the Steelers lost 26-7.

Jaylen Warren was responsible for the team’s only scoring drive, rushing for a touchdown in the first quarter. Darnell Washington was the leading receiver, with two catches for 45 yards.

For the Bills, Josh Allen had a good performance, completing 15 of 23 passing attempts for 123 yards and a touchdown to a returning Keon Coleman against an interception to Brandin Echols. He also rushed once for a touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers reached career milestone vs. Bills, opens up on terrible outing

For all the negativity Aaron Rodgers generated with his performance on Sunday, there was one positive that stood out.

He became the fifth career 65,000-yard quarterback in NFL history, having entered the game with 64,921. Earlier this year, he had surpassed his Green Bay mentor and predecessor Brett Favre for fourth in the career passing touchdowns list with his 509th in a 21-14 win against the New England Patriots.

During his post-game presser, however, he admitted that he and the team did not have the best of practice in the lead-up. However, it was still no excuse:

“Players need to take accountability.”

He also agreed with fan sentiment about his performance, calling it “boo-worthy”.

The loss sent the Steelers to .500 yet again after a promising 4-1 start, tied with the Baltimore Ravens at 6-6 in the AFC North but out of the playoff picture via tiebreak. When asked about their chances of clinching the division, Rodgers said:

“We control our destiny.”

And crucially, the Ravens will be their next opponents. That game is next Sunday, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
