Laurie Canter has agreed to join Majesticks GC for the 2026 LIV Golf season, giving the all-British franchise a major boost. The 36-year-old previously played on the Saudi-backed circuit during its first three seasons from 2022 to 2024, representing Cleeks GC and also serving as a league reserve.

The Englishman has been in excellent form over the past two years, winning twice on the DP World Tour and reaching a career-high 60th in the Official World Golf Ranking. He also recorded his best finish in the Race to Dubai standings.

Earlier this year, Canter became the first former LIV player to compete in a full PGA Tour event at The Players Championship. He went on to secure a dual card at the DP World Tour Championship, earning top-10 finishes in the season-long standings and making him eligible for full PGA Tour membership in 2026.

In 2025, Laurie Canter played seven PGA Tour events, missing the cut in four and finishing in T55 at the U.S. Open at Oakmont. Despite that, he has chosen to return to LIV Golf, showing the strength of his recent performances.

Laurie Canter to kick off 2026 LIV Golf season with Majesticks GC

Laurie Canter will start his 2026 LIV Golf season with Majesticks GC at the Riyadh event from February 4-7. His signing adds experience and strength to the all-British team ahead of the new season.

Canter said, via Irish Golfer:

“Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity…The league’s growth has been remarkable and my experience in the league has led me to become a more complete player and a multiple winner on the DP World Tour.

“To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honor, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition, and identity that really resonates with me. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building.”

Team Principals James Dunkley and Oliver Banks welcomed the signing, praising Laurie Canter’s competitiveness and fit with the team’s vision.

“Laurie is an extremely strong competitor who elevates everyone around him. His dedication to preparation, his professionalism, and the consistency he’s shown at the highest levels make him a perfect match for what we’re building,” said Dunkley.

Banks said, “Laurie brings a mindset and personality that align with our long-term vision for the Majesticks. He connects with fans, brings humility and hunger, and he represents the modern direction of our team.”

Majesticks GC struggled in 2025, finishing without a podium in any event. The team, featuring Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood, and Sam Horsfield, had its best result with a T5 in Adelaide. Canter’s arrival could change that for 2026.
