Scott Vincent on becoming the first LIV Golfer to be promoted back after relegation – “There’s a definite pathway now”

SHOCKING Identity Behind WarGames MYSTERY ATTACKER REVEALED!

Scott Vincent finished the Asian Tour 2025 schedule topping The International Series Rankings. Owing to this, the Zimbabwean star has become the first player to be promoted back to LIV after being relegated the season prior. The golfer has come out to laud the “definite pathway” set by the circuit ahead of his return to the Saudi-backed series.

For the unversed, Vincent earned a LIV Golf series spot in 2022 via the International Series Order of Merit. He made multiple appearances for the Iron Heads GC side before exiting the circuit ahead of the 2024 season. Having missed a full season, the 33-year-old recorded a win at International Series Morocco and had a narrow play-off loss at the Jakarta International Championship, to climb back to the breakaway tour.

Vincent, who was crowned the International Series Rankings champion after last month’s PIF Saudi International, said the LIV spot for 2026 was a ‘possibility’ at the start of the year. Furthermore, he admitted that not playing the promotion event to join LIV again was the only goal that worked in his favour.

Speaking about his pathway to LIV Golf, Scott Vincent told bunkered.co.uk:

Reports: LIV open to more newcomers from International Series - Field Level Media - Professional sports content solutions | FLM

“At the start of the year LIV is a possibility. But it’s so rare that it’s not at the forefront of your mind like, ‘hey, this is what we want to do’. It’s like, ‘no, let’s just focus on the process and we’ll see where that puts us’… It’s very cool that focussing on the process and just trying to get better. Even after a bad year with LIV it just turned completely into our favour this year.

The Asian Tour has worked out amazing for me. I think it’s really cool for the Asian Tour and how the partnership is working out and how it’s growing. There’s a definite pathway now. It’s completely elevated so many of the events on the Asian Tour and the strength of players is improving each and every year. It’s very noticeable. It’s cool to see because it forces a lot of players to find ways to get better.”

It is pertinent to note that LIV Golf’s relationship with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour remains fractured with the American circuit even banning players associating with the Saudi series. However, the Asian Tour remains strongest supporter of LIV with the two top performers from the International Series earning playing rights on the series in 2026.

Scott Vincent and Yosuke Asaji qualify for LIV Golf

Scott Vincent won The International Series Rankings to join LIV Golf in 2026 alongside Yosuke Asaji. The former LIV player amassed 335 ranking points from nine outings while his Japanese counterpart claimed the second available spot with 285 points from seven events. The Moutai Singapore Open winner, who also finished T2 in the Philippines slightly edged the International Series Philippines champion Miguel Tabuena, who finished third with 260 points, 25 points behind his Japanese rival.

For the unversed, the final picks were confirmed after the PIF Saudi International 2025 outing at the Riyadh Golf Club last month. The $5 million series finale had elevated points on offer, which were claimed by champion Josele Ballester. It is pertinent to note that the young Spanish pro is already a LIV pro as part of the Sergio Garcia-led Fireballs GC.
