After 19 years with CBS, Ian Baker-Finch called curtains to his broadcasting career earlier this year. Baker-Finch’s time as a broadcaster came to an end after the Wyndham Championship, and there was plenty of speculation around who would replace the legendary figure.

While many names were being thrown by fans and experts, we finally have an answer. Ex-PGA Tour pro Colt Knost is set to replace Baker-Finch. On X (formerly Twitter), the official handle of CBS Sports made this announcement. The tweet read:

CBS Sports’ golf broadcast team will have a new look in 2026. @ColtKnost has been elevated to analyst, joining the @GolfonCBS Super Tower alongside host Jim Nantz, lead analyst @TrevorImmelman and fellow analyst @frank_nobilo.

It must be noted that replacing Ian Baker-Finch won’t be a walk in the park for Colt Knost. Over the years, Baker-Finch gained widespread popularity for his fabulous broadcasting skills and the valuable insights he provided.

Baker Finch’s popularity is at such a height that one of golf’s greatest players, Tiger Woods, also celebrated the golfer-turned-broadcaster’s final day. On X, Woods congratulated Ian Baker-Finch on his 30 years in broadcasting and thanked him on behalf of the golf community.

Colt Knost opens up on replacing Ian Baker-Finch at CBS Sports

After CBS Sports confirmed that Colt Knost would be elevated to analyst alongside Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman, the golf community had mixed reactions. However, the one thing many were looking forward to was Knost’s statement on his new role.

On X, Knost opened up about being elevated to such a prestigious position at CBS Sports. The 40-year-old quote-tweeted the X post by CBS Sports and wrote that this promotion was the biggest honor of his golf career.

Colt Knost wrote:

“All I can say is wow! This is by far the biggest honor of my golf career! Can’t wait to be up in the Super Tower with Jim, Trevor, and my man Frank! Torrey Pines cant get here fast enough! Let’s get this party started!”

Before beginning his career as a broadcaster, Colt Knost played professional golf, which becomes obvious when he is called an ex-PGA Tour star. While Knost was never able to win on the tour, he has two professional wins. Both these wins came on the Nationwide Tour in 2008.
