Cameron Smith resonates with fathers worldwide while detailing his cricket watching situation

Cameron Smith opened up about watching the Ashes cricket series while playing this week at the Crown Australian Open. The LIV golfer is playing on his home soil this week in the DP World Tour event. He has been having a fantastic time on the greens and is now in contention to win the tournament.

After his marvelous third round, Smith was asked if he was watching the cricket tournaments this week. However, the Aussie said he tried to watch as much as his son Remy allows him to. He added that his son doesn’t like cricket and watches “Bluey” and other things.

Flushing It shared a video of the hilarious reponse from Cameron Smith about watching cricket on its X (formerly Twitter) account with a caption:

“Cam Smith was asked if he’s been able to watch much of the Ashes and Dad’s everywhere can relate to this answer!”

Cameron Smith welcomed a baby boy earlier this year. At this week’s event, after three rounds, he settled in a tie for second place with Si Woo Kim and Carlos Ortiz. They all tied at 12-under, just two strokes behind the third-round leader, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen.


Cameron Smith sets his eyes on winning the Australian Open

Cameron Smith had a fantastic start to his game at the Crown Australian Open. He carded the opening round of 70, followed by two more rounds of 65 and 66. He was tied for second place, and after the game, he opened up about his performance. He is looking forward to winning this week. He said (via Australian Golf Digest):

“It’s just nice to be in contention; it’s been a while since I’ve had this feeling so I’m looking forward to (Sunday). I love that it’s at Royal Melbourne for the Australian Open. I couldn’t think of a better place to be back in form.”

He also talked about his performance this year. He said:

“I just feel like it’s been a bit of a crappy year…..It would shut a few people up, but that’s not that that’s really the goal. The goal is to go out there and play well. The motivation for myself is to play well under these conditions.”

Cameron Smith has played on the LIV Golf, the majors, and the DP World Tour events this year. He was close to winning on the LIV Golf a few times this season but missed the title. He was the runner-up at the Hong Kong event and then at the Singapore event. He also settled in a tie for second place at the United Kingdom event.

Meanwhile, in the majors, he settled in T-6 at the Masters and T-32 at the U.S. Open. He missed the cut at The Open Championship and struggled at the PGA Championship, settling in T-63. On the DP World Tour, he missed the cut at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship and then settled in T-17 at the ISPS Handa Australian Open.
