Marshawn Kneeland’s family takes over his IG account to request funds for pregnant GF Catalina and their unborn child

Marshawn Kneeland’s family takes over his IG account to request funds for pregnant GF Catalina and their unborn child

Marshawn Kneeland’s family posted on his Instagram on Monday, asking NFL fans to help support his pregnant girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, and their unborn baby.

The post came just a few weeks after the Dallas Cowboys player died at age 24.

“This is an incredibly hard time for all of us, but even in our grief, we are reminded that love is still here. The love being shown to honor Marshawn’s life. The love we all feel — the same love he gave so freely to everyone around him. The love he had for Catalina, his family, and the Cowboys organization,” the family wrote.

“Marshawn was truly special, and the world was blessed to know him. Our hope is that his story is not remembered by his final moments, but by the light he brought and the awareness his name can bring to mental health. Right now, our focus is on surrounding Catalina and his child with comfort and support.”

They also shared the link to the “Marshawn Kneeland Fund.Org” for anyone who wished to donate.

Kneeland died on Nov. 6, 2025, in Frisco, Texas. Police said they found him with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after finding his abandoned car. Reports later showed that Catalina had contacted police that night because she was worried about his mental health.

According to police audio obtained by PEOPLE, a dispatcher said:

“We’re talking to the girlfriend. She’s trying to call his agent, but we’re trying to get her to call him first, but she’s saying he is armed and has a history of mental illness and her quote was, ‘He will end it all.’”

Catalina is pregnant with their first child.

The Dallas Cowboys are also helping the family. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer announced the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund on Nov. 13 to support Catalina and the baby in the long term.

Catalina Mancera shared an emotional message on Nov. 24 as she continued to grieve Marshawn Kneeland’s death.

“I’ve been holding off doing this bc I don’t want to accept this as my new reality. I still have a glimpse of hope Marshawn will walk through our front door singing and dancing to the music he was listening to in the car. This isn’t my life anymore, I’m now living my worst nightmare,” she wrote.

Catalina said Marshawn was not just her boyfriend but also her best friend.

She continued:

“My sweet boy is really gone. The things that I would do just to hold you one more time and tell you how much you mean to me. But now I have you to watch over me and wait for me on the other side. I will see you again.”

Catalina thanked Marshawn for loving her and said she would carry his memory and legacy forever.

“You will never be forgotten. I’ll love you forever my sweet angel 🤍,” she wrote.

Catalina posted the message along with photos of the two of them together.
