Amon-Ra St. Brown’s girlfriend Brooklyn Adams wants to redefine “WAG”

The term “WAG” has become a way to describe the significant others of professional athletes. Amon-Ra St. Brown’s longtime girlfriend, Brooklyn Adams, wants to show that they are more than just significant others and have their own success away from their partner’s careers.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Adams said that she understands that some ladies like the term, it just isn’t for her.

Adams told PEOPLE, “We’re more than wives and girlfriends of athletes,” I have a name, and if you got to know me, then you’d realize that I’m more than just a girlfriend. I love that they put a spin on that. I don’t like the WAG title. Nothing against anybody who likes it. It’s cute that girls put their own twist on it…But to be given that title, I’m not a fan.”

Adams wants to change the abbreviation of “WAG” to mean, “Women Achieving Greatness and Success” as so many partners have their own career endeavors and passions.
