The Cleveland Browns are heading towards a fourth losing season in five years with the team holding a 3-10 record heading into the final stretch of games this year.
With the Browns struggling on the gridiron, coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Barry’s jobs have come under threat. Amid speculations surrounding Stefanski and Berry, Brown insider made a bold claim on ESPN Cleveland.
“They had a plan,” Grossi said. “Although they’ve lost more than they expected, the plan all along was to develop [young players]…and suffer the losses and reboot for next year. That could very well be the plan.”

While the Browns are 6-24 Stefanski, the coach received owner Jimmy Haslam’s backing in spring. Despite his abysmal record, Stefanski is “highly regarded” by other teams. ESPN’s Dan Graziano wrote:
“Kevin Stefanski isn’t necessarily to blame for the Browns’ quarterback mess, but his record the past two seasons is 6-24, and a turnaround doesn’t seem imminent.
“A couple of people have suggested to me that Stefanski would be of interest to other teams if the Browns moved on, as he’s well-regarded around the league.”
Browns general manager Andrew Berry credited for grooming talent
Apart from Kevin Stefanski, general manager Andrew Berry has also faced the heat from fans this season. Although the team has spiralled under Berry, NFL insider Mary Kay Cabot shared her thoughts on Berry facing the heat.
“This is 100 percent the best draft that Andrew Berry has ever had,” Mary Kay Cabot wrote. “This doesn’t say to me, ‘GM change’ at all. This says, ‘we see where you’re going with this and when these rookies grow up, this team can be dynamite,'”
Despite the Browns’ shortcomings, GM Berry has helped team groom talented rookies like Carson Schwesinger, Quinshon Judkins and Shedeur Sanders.
Meanwhile, Kevin Stefanski will be hoping to end the season on high by giving their best in the remaining games. The Browns are up against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
