Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had a memorable game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. While Robinson led the team to an epic 29-28 comeback win against the Buccaneers, he made headlines for the wrong reasons.

Robinson, who finished the game with 93 rushing yards, 82 receiving yards, and a touchdown, kick-started the team’s comeback in the fourth quarter with a six-yard touchdown run.

However, after the game, Robinson made a head-turning remark during his interaction on the “Thursday Night Football Nightcap” show. The clip with his remark gained more than 180,000 views on X.

“You had a play where they threw it to you, Bijan, they threw it to you in the backfield, you made the first one miss, then legged three people. And I said, this boy grew up in the backyard,” Richard Sherman remarked.

Robinson responded with a football term often deemed derogatory.

“Smear the q****, that’s what we do,” Robinson said.

Robinson was referring to a classic “keep-away” game in which one person has to keep a ball, while the others try to tackle him. It’s seemingly ca ross between reverse tag and football.

However, the Falcons running back apologized for his remark in a post on X on Thursday.

“Hey everyone I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, it was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse,” Robinson wrote. “I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!”
