Lexi Thompson recently shared praise for country pop singer Russell Dickerson. The popular singer performed at the Tiburón Golf Club ahead of the Grant Thornton Invitational.
Thompson is in Naples this week for the Grant Thornton Invitational, which will begin on Friday, December 12, at Tiburón Golf Club. She is paired with Wyndham Clark for the one-of-a-kind event.
On Thursday, December 12, Lexi Thompson shared a video from Dickerson’s performance.
“Russell Dickerson concert tonight at the Grant Thornton Invitational,” she wrote.
Notably, Thompson is making her third straight appearance at the Grant Thornton Invitational, but her two-time teammate Rickie Fowler is absent this time. Instead, she is paired with Clark, who is making his tournament debut. Despite playing together for the first time, the duo is one of the favorites to lift the title this week.
Speaking of recent form, Lexi Thompson tied for 19th at the CME Group Tour Championship but has struggled in her last few events. For the uninitiated, the star golfer retired from a full-time schedule last year and now picks and chooses her events.
The 30-year old played just thirteen events this year and made nine cuts. She had a few good results including a runner-up finish at the Dow Championship.
Thompson’s partner, Wyndham Clark, has also been struggling and the year has been quite underwhelming for him. He tied for eighth at the Hero World Challenge but that was just a 20-player field. Outside of that, he has had just two top-ten finishes and has missed five cuts in 23 starts.
