“His entire career is over”: Bomani Jones rips Sherrone Moore for allegedly DMing model Mia Sorety during Michigan’s National Championship game

Bomani Jones rips Sherrone Moore for allegedly DMing model Mia Sorety during Michigan

Sherrone Moore was fired from his position as Michigan’s football coach on Wednesday. The school stated that Moore was dismissed for having an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.” Later that week, model Mia Sorety confirmed that she had exchanged Instagram direct messages with Moore over an extended period, even after Michigan won the national title in 2024.

On Monday, sports analyst Bomani Jones slammed Moore for his actions that landed him in hot water, and suggested that the coach’s career might be done.

“You were exchanging messages with the woman off the O**yF**s during the national championship game, per her telling, just throwing that out there,” Jones said on his “The Right Time” show. “Clearly, this man (Moore) has a problem, and then he went and bust up in this woman’s house, allegedly with a knife, allegedly threatening to do harm to himself, allegedly.

“There’s a great chance that he’s going to jail after this is done, we will never see his face again. Think about this. He doesn’t turn 40 until February. He got a dream job, and his entire career is over before he turned 40 years old.”

A few hours after Michigan fired him, Moore was arrested for allegedly assaulting his executive assistant, Paige Shiver.

According to police records, Moore posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail on Friday.

Last week, reports from NBC claimed that Michigan had been alerted about the fact that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental health issues for a few weeks before his firing. Nonetheless, Michigan’s Athletic Director, Warde Manuel, allegedly dismissed Moore alone, with no HR representative and no security present.

Moore posted an 18-8 record as Michigan’s head coach, a role he held for around two years.

He led the Wolverines to a 9-3 record in the 2025 regular season and had a victory in the lone game he coached in Jim Harbaugh’s absence during the 2023 season.
