Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has not had the season many would’ve anticipated, largely due to his injury issues in 2025.

With the Ravens’ postseason aspirations on the brink over the last few weeks, rumors of Jackson’s divorce from the team have been growing by every passing day. The rumors have also intensified after reports emerged that the Ravens need to reduce their cap hit to $74.5 million next season.

Baltimore needs to either extend Jackson or trade him to reduce their cap hit for next season. Amid the rumors of a move away from Baltimore, former NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco urged the two-time MVP to move on from the Ravens.

“Come home if they don’t appreciate you 😤” he wrote on X.

Jackson has been restricted to 12 games this season due to injuries and has completed 63.7 percent of his pass attempts for 2,311 yards, throwing 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.

It is a stark contrast from his numbers last season when he lost out to the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen for the NFL MVP award. Jackson posted 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and four interceptions last season.

NFL insider shares potential solution to keep Lamar Jackson in Baltimore amid cap issue

The Ravens are 7-8 for the season and sit second behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-6) in the AFC North. Baltimore needs to win its remaining games against the Green Bay Packers and the Steelers and Pittsburgh loses it remaining two games to have any chance of making it to the postseason.

Amid the team’s cap hit issues, ESPN insider Dan Graziano shared a potential solution that could help the Ravens retain Jackson beyond this season.

“They wouldn’t be replacing him (Jackson) with a better player, because there really aren’t any better players. But given that Jackson and coach John Harbaugh have won a total of three playoff games together since Jackson was drafted in 2018, it might be worth the Ravens examining whether a new extension in excess of $60 million per year is the best way for them to build their team moving forward.”

The Ravens will be at Lambeau Field on Sunday for their must-win game against the Packers before traveling to Pittsburgh the following week to take on their divisional rivals
