Philip Rivers lost his cool on the sideline during Indianapolis’ home finale against Jacksonville. The Colts quarterback exploded at the officiating crew over a decision that stopped his offense cold in the third quarter on Sunday.

The incident happened at Lucas Oil Stadium with the Jaguars holding a 14-10 lead. Rivers, Indianapolis’ starting quarterback, believed he had snapped the ball before officials halted play to review a catch with 6:51 remaining in the third quarter.

Rivers sprinted toward the referees to argue his case.

The Colts entered the game needing a win to snap a five-game skid. Indianapolis sat at 8-6 while Jacksonville arrived with an 11-4 record and a seven-game winning streak. The Jaguars had beaten the Colts 36-19 three weeks earlier in Jacksonville.

Indianapolis trailed 10-0 after one quarter before finding some rhythm. Jonathan Taylor punched in a 3-yard touchdown to cap a 15-play march that made it 10-0 with 12:49 left in the second quarter.

Philip Rivers completed just one of his first three passes for 7 yards on the opening possession. He connected with Mo Alie-Cox for a 5-yard touchdown in the third quarter that gave Indianapolis a 17-14 advantage.

The Colts managed just 80 passing yards in the first half from Rivers. Taylor carried the load early with 51 rushing yards and a score before intermission. Indianapolis won the turnover battle by forcing two Jacksonville giveaways in the opening 30 minutes.

Cam Little drilled a 34-yard field goal to knot the score at 17-17 with 1:35 left in the third quarter. Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 137 yards and rushed for a touchdown in the first half before Germaine Pratt picked him off in the end zone just before halftime.
