Phil Mickelson has once again shared his political views, opining that ending ‘fraud’ in California would significantly hurt the Democratic Party’s position in the state as well as across the country.

On Thursday, January 1, the six-time major winner posted a message on X about what he described as a political ‘dilemma’ for Democrats in California. Mickelson wrote:

“The dilemma for all Democrats is if you stop the fraud, illegal immigration, and voter fraud in CA, then Republicans win CA and have a huge majority throughout the country. The Democrat party all but ends. 🤔”

Phil Mickelson has often criticized the California government and Governor Gavin Newsom, and his latest social media post was on similar lines.

In a separate exchange in late December, Mickelson reacted to a post, accusing California state agencies of large-scale “waste and fraud” under Newsom’s watch. That post pointed to spending on infrastructure, homelessness programs, and COVID-era unemployment insurance.

Mickelson took a dig at the governor, writing:

“WOW 😳 He’s on a roll!”

Phil Mickelson has been active on social media in recent years, often sharing his political views. He has previously shown support for U.S. President Donald Trump, and continues to post while away from competitive golf.

A look at Phil Mickelson’s past reactions to Gavin Newsom’s criticism

Phil Mickelson has frequently reacted to posts critical of California Governor Gavin Newsom in recent years. In one exchange from a few days ago, Mickelson replied to a post that called for the arrest of several political figures, including Newsom. As the user asked who else should be added to the list, Mickelson responded:

“There’s plenty more but this is a great start!”

In November, California gubernatorial candidate Chad Bianco shared a post questioning the governor’s leadership. Mickelson reacted with a “💯,” showing agreement.

Around the same time, the LIV Golfer shared another post about power outages in parts of Los Angeles, such as Crenshaw and South LA. The post blamed the state government, while Mickelson added a short comment, suggesting that the problems were not surprising.

“Many have known this would happen but didn’t know when exactly it would start. It’s starting.” he wrote.

Phil Mickelson has also called on Newsom to participate in town hall discussions in the past. These included topics such as the Sable Offshore Corp case and Newsom’s comments about “Trump’s America.” Despite his strong views, Mickelson has said he does not plan to enter politics.
