Ben Johnson’s Chicago Bears suffered a 42-38 loss to Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers in Week 17 on Sunday. Although the Bears had clinched the NFC North title before the game, the loss to San Francisco meant that Chicago could no longer secure the top seed in the conference.
On Friday, Kevin Fishbain of “The Athletic” appeared on the midday show on “670TheScore” and said that Johnson and the Bears were annoyed with the loss to the San Francisco.
“You went to that (Bears) locker room, you went to that press conference, it was not positive,” Fishbain said. “Like, those guys were ticked off that they didn’t win the game, and that’s a good thing. … I just think where the Bears are at in this arc, in this narrative, is right now they are still in this category of, ‘People don’t really believe in them.'”

The Bears were close to snatching a win against the 49ers on the final play of the game. However, Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams’ intended pass to wideout Jadhae Walker fell short in the endzone.
Johnson has done a fine job in his first year as the Bears’ coach. However, Chicago will need to tighten up its defense if it is to make a deep run in the playoffs.
