Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf Club finally clinched its first win of the TGL Season 2 this week. On Friday, McIlroy and Co. played against Los Angeles GC in the second game of the tech-infused series’ new season.
Last season was forgettable for Boston as they struggled to have a single win, but this season, they started with a win and recorded positive shot clock timings. The TGL shared the stats on its X (formerly Twitter) account and revealed that the average time remaining on the shot clock for Boston Common GC was 14.13 seconds, while that for Los Angeles GC was 11.49 seconds.
The TGL teams feature four players; however, only three play in a matchup. This week for the Boston Common Golf Club, Rory McIlroy was joined by Keegan Bradley and Michael Thorbjornsen.
Boston Common features McIlroy, Bradley, along with Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama. However, the Aussie and the Japanese star skipped their first game of the TGL Season 2, and Thorbjornsen came in their place.
He had a phenomenal TGL debut and became the first player in the history of the series to make four putts from outside 10 feet in a single game.
Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf Club secured four points in triples format and then three in singles, while Los Angeles GC recorded five points in total.
