Lamar Jackson rips referees for missed illegal formation penalty on Steelers moments before Tyler Loop

Lamar Jackson saw his 2025 end in a most agonizing fashion possible: a missed walk-off field goal attempt. But upon further review of the footage of that play, he now thinks the referees missed something.

Just over two hours after his Baltimore Ravens lost 24-26 at the Pittsburgh Steelers in a do-or-die winner-take-all clash on Sunday, the multiple-time MVP accused the referees of failing to call an illegal formation before Tyler Loop’s kick on his social media:

Earlier, during his media availability in the locker room, he had also revealed that he was “livid” at Loop for sending the penultimate kickoff of the game to the end zone, allowing Aaron Rodgers to score the decisive touchdown to Calvin Austin III:

“I told him, ‘I’m just hyped based off the emotions of the game right now.’ I felt like it was going to come down to him winning the game for us at the end based on how it was going. He’s a rookie, you know. It’s all good. Just leave it in the past.”

Loop himself addressed his season-ending shank when addressing the reporters:

“I wanna do better, and unfortunately, the nature of the job is, you have makes, and those are awesome, and unfortunately you have misses, and unfortunately, for it to end like that sucks.”

Long snapper Nick Moore and head coach Jim Harbaugh were more supportive of the kicker in their post-game comments about him.Lamar Jackson declines to address future after Ravens’ loss at Steelers

Over the past few weeks, Lamar Jackson has become the subject of speculation about his future with the Ravens organization. He has been alleged to have slept during meetings, and his name has also come up in trade talks.

But addressing the media on Sunday, he refused to answer those questions:

“Bro, we just lost a game, a divisional game, a game that could’ve put us in the playoffs. … I’m not even thinking about that right now, to be honest with you.”

Against the Steelers, Jackson threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns, two to Zay Flowers in the fourth quarter, against an interception.
