Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck helped the Hurricanes into the national championship game for the first time in 24 years after his game-winning drive against Ole Miss with 18 seconds remaining in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday.
Following the win on Thursday night, a fake text from Beck’s ex-girlfriend Hanna Cavinder went viral on social media. In a screenshot shared by a satire account on X, Beck allegedly texted the Hurricanes quarterback. The post was debunked later but has gotten more than eight million views on X.
Hanna Cavinder and Beck reportedly broke up last year after his transfer from Georgia to Miami. According to Fox Sports, Hanna broke up with the Miami quarterback because of his “ego.”

“He has an ego. He wanted people to stop and take a picture,” Haley said. “He would, like, flip off people at the bar, and I’d be embarrassed. So I broke up with him, and all this cheating s**t came out. I had no idea. I didn’t break up with him because he cheated. I broke up with because of who he was.”
Miami quarterback Carson Beck reflects on overcoming “adversity”
The Hurricanes have had a tough run to the championship game but they made it through to the final after Carson Beck’s back-to-back, 75-yard touchdown drives to cap the 31-27 win against Ole Miss.
“Man,” Beck said, “what an unbelievable year. It was never easy. It was never perfect. There were a lot of ups and downs. There was a lot of adversity that not only I faced individually, but that we faced as a team.”
Beck faced a lot of scrutiny when he transferred to Miami instead of declaring for the NFL draft. However, the Miami quarterback has proved the doubters wrong with his heroics.
