Brooks Koepka is the biggest name to leave LIV Golf since its inception, but for now, that’s all he is. A name.
The five-time major winner is currently living off his former successes. Brooks Koepka had just one top five all season on LIV and missed the cut in three of the four major championships. That meant he finished 31st in the individual standings.
That’s been a common trend for superstars who are joining the Saudi-backed league. Jon Rahm won the individual championship but was winless in 2025, and no LIV player won a major last season.
But after Brooks Koepka rejoined the PGA Tour, he hopes to recapture some of his form as he transitions back to playing a schedule he is more accustomed to in the States. Perhaps he can even win an event or two in 2026.
One former winner has gone even further than that when predicting how Koepka will perform now that he’s back on the PGA Tour.
Robert Damron, once a PGA Tour winner and now a Golf Channel analyst, is fully behind the idea that Koepka will quickly return to his brilliant best on the PGA Tour.
Following the news of his return, he posted to X, “Those that think @BKoepka is done winning majors because he struggled last season are gonna be in for a surprise.”
Koepka’s 2025 season was plagued with a series of injury niggles which clearly affected his performances, but from what Damron has heard, those problems should be behind him in 2026.
How will Brooks Koepka perform during the 2026 PGA Tour season?
Could he really win this year?
One X user raised a question about Koepka’s health in Damron’s replies, to which he said, “Word is that he’s good to go…”.
That’s great news for Koepka and fans of the PGA Tour in general. If Koepka performs well now he’s back on the tour, it could trigger a mass exodus of underperforming players, which could ultimately spell the end of LIV Golf.
Brooks Koepka’s crazy major championship record
Koepka is known as a major performer, bringing his best golf to the biggest events of the year. And this stat shows exactly how much better the former LIV Golf star is at major championships than he is away from those events.
In non-major PGA Tour events, Koepka has 140 starts. He wins at a 3% rate, having taken four PGA Tour victories, finishes in the top five 18% of the time, and in the top 25 42% of the time. It’s a good record, but not one that would lift him into the same stratosphere as the all-time greats.
The winners of the four majors in 2026 will be…

But at majors, playing against the best players in the world on the toughest courses, Koepka’s record gets even better!
In 46 starts, Koepka has won 11% of the majors he’s played, having won five, finishes in the top five 30% of the time, and in the top 25 57% of the time. The vast majority of the time, Koepka will be in contention near the top of the leaderboard.
So even if he isn’t able to bring his A-game on the PGA Tour next year, you can never count Koepka out at major championships.
