62-year-old Vijay Singh surprised golf fans with his remarkable performance at the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii. The Fijian golfer teed it up this week in the season-opening PGA Tour event, and with his fabulous game, he made the cut in the event after two rounds.

He started the campaign with an opening round of 68 and then played the next round of 70 to settle with a score of 2-under. The Sony Open in Hawaii is a regular PGA Tour event featuring a full-size field and has a cutline after two rounds.

The cutline for this week’s event was 1-under, and Singh successfully made the cut. However, some big names struggled with their game and failed to secure their spot for the final two rounds over the weekend. Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, and Gary Woodland, among others, missed the cut at the PGA Tour event.

Vijay Singh, who competes on the Champions Tour, has been playing his first regular PGA Tour event since 2021. In the last few seasons, he only played at the Masters on the PGA Tour, and upon his return had a fantastic start this week.

He had played at the Sony Open in Hawaii in 2021 and carded two rounds of 69 and 73 and missed the cut. He has been pretty successful on the PGA Tour over the years and has won 34 tournaments on the circuit so far.

He had also won the Sony Open in Hawaii back in 2005. That year, he played four rounds of 69, 68, 67, and 65 to settle with a score of 11-under and registered a one-stroke win over Ernie Els, and it would be interesting to see how things will unfold for him this week.
