“One Person Is Not Going to Dictate” – Bubba Watson Gets Real About Brooks Koepka’s LIV Golf Exit

Bubba Watson recently said that Brooks Koepka’s departure from LIV Golf wouldn’t affect the league much. He insisted that one player wasn’t going to “dictate” the future of the Saudi-backed circuit.

Last month, Koepka bid adieu to his four-year-long stint on LIV Golf, citing personal reasons. Within a month, he applied for PGA Tour reinstatement and rejoined the league, accepting the strict conditions.

Recently, Bubba Watson was asked about Koepka’s exit, and the two-time major champion was optimistic about LIV’s future.

“The league’s in a great spot. One person is not going to dictate what the league’s doing,” he said as per Epress Sports US. “The beauty is that now he gets to spend more time with his family. “That’s what he wants. And so that’s good. It’s great for him. As a friend, I hope he has a great time and it’s great that he’s still playing professional golf. And LIV has always been about pathways to play other tours. So it’s great,” he added.

What’s next for Bubba Watson? Upcoming schedule explored

Bubba Watson will start his season with the LIV Golf Riyadh event, which will take place from February 4 to 7 at Riyadh Golf Club. The two-time major champion hasn’t competed since the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, as he underwent minor left finger surgery in October.

Last year, Watson registered his best season on the Saudi-backed circuit with the help of four top-ten finishes, including a runner-up finish at LIV Golf United Kingdom. Besides, the veteran star also tied for 14th at the Masters Tournament, which was his first top 20 finish in majors since 2019.
