Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke opened up about Matt Wallace at this week’s Dubai Invitational. The English golfer is playing this week at the DP World Tour event, which started with his opening round on Thursday, January 15.
He was joined by Yorke on the greens on Saturday. DP World Tour shared a video of the former Manchester United striker on its X (formerly Twitter) account. He walked on the greens with Wallace and talked about the game. Yorke said:
“It’s such a great event and pleasure to be here, to be beside Matt. I’ve got to know him over the years, but never really got to play with him. So to get to see him up close is fantastic. We are doing well and trending in the right direction.”
Moreover, the reporter also asked Yorke about today’s Manchester United game against Man City. In response, Yorke said:
“I’ve got my red on and wish Michael Carrick all the best. Today’s about going out and showing what United can do. No reason why we can;t compete against Man City today.”
This week’s Dubai Invitational features a stellar field of some top-ranked golfers, such as Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, and many others. The four-day event is scheduled to have its finale on Sunday, January 18.
Nacho Elvira had taken the lead at the Dubai Invitational after two rounds. He played rounds of 69 and 68.
