John Harbaugh was officially introduced as the New York Giants‘ new head coach on Tuesday. The veteran joined the Big Blue after spending 18 years with the Baltimore Ravens, where he posted five 12-win seasons and a Super Bowl win in the 2012 season.

The Giants got to work to put Harbaugh in the best position to succeed in the Big Apple. The official announcement took a little more time as they worked on details to make sure they were on the same page to make the team a much better squad, but fans and analysts were curious about a couple of things.

General manager Joe Schoen discussed how he would work with Harbaugh. The head coach will reportedly have the final say on the team’s decisions, but Schoen seemingly downplayed that while speaking to reporters.

“I’m not worried about that,” Schoen said. “I’ve been in the league for 26 years, so everywhere I’ve been, the head coach and general manager work together. That’s the only way it’s going to work. Get on the same page, go through the process, we’ve done it everywhere I’ve been.

“I’m not worried about it. That’s just something on a piece of paper. Doesn’t matter. We need to work together and we’re going to come to the final conclusion. It’s always going to be about what’s best for the New York Giants. I have no problem with that and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Eleven days after the Baltimore Ravens fired him, John Harbaugh replaced Brian Daboll as the New York Giants head coach. NFL insider Adam Schefter shared Harbaugh’s first thoughts after completing the deal.

“This is the New York Giants,” Harbaugh told ESPN. “I’m proud and honored to the head coach of this historic franchise, and especially excited to work with the Mara and Tisch families. But most of all, I can’t wait to get started with the great players on this football team to see what we can accomplish together.”

The Giants showed promise in 2025. They can go higher with the right moves this offseason.
