Former ESPN analyst Jason Whitlock appeared to take shots at Josh Allen’s wife, Hailee Steinfeld, after watching her “Sinners” movie. Steinfeld starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in the film, which received 16 Oscar nominations, setting a new record.
However, Whitlock felt that “Sinners” deserved almost no hype from the Academy Awards.
“I’m just seeing Sinners received 16 Oscar nominations. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Unreal,” Whitlock tweeted on Thursday.

Hailee Steinfeld’s “Sinners” surpassed the 14 nominations of previous films such as All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land. Steinfeld stars as “Mary” in the vampire horror film, which was released in April last year.
Among the many nominations, “Sinners” is in contention to win Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Best Casting, Best Supporting Actor (Delroy Lindo), and Best Supporting Actress (Wunmi Mosaku).
The final Oscar voting will run from Feb. 26 to March 5. The 98th Oscars will be held on March 15 and will air on ABC, with Conan O’Brien hosting the event.
Hailee Steinfeld’s husband Josh Allen named MVP finalist for 2025 season

While Hailee Steinfeld received some excellent news about her “Sinners” movie receiving 16 Oscar nominations, her husband also received some news from the NFL.
On Thursday, Buffalo Bills quarterback Allen was listed as one of the finalists for the MVP award. He joined Matthew Stafford, Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence and Christian McCaffrey among those who can win the iconic individual award.
Allen, who is the reigning MVP, finished the 2025 regular season with 3,668 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and 14 rushing TDs. He led Buffalo to a second-place finish in the AFC East.
The Bills beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 in the wild card round, but were eliminated from the playoffs with a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round.
