After shooting 279 yards into the fairway, he hit the wrong ball on his first approach shot. As a result, he was penalized and eventually settled for a double bogey.
Things went worse as Brian Harman made another double bogey on the next hole and eventually shot 1-over 73. Following the first round, he was tied for 142nd and was 11 strokes off the lead.
