Blades Brown has been sensational at the American Express in La Quinta, California, this week.
It was on Friday at the American Express when teen sensation Blades Brown announced himself on the world stage with a sparkling round of 12-under-par 60.
This is Bron’s 10th start on the PGA Tour and he already seems to be completely at home.
Brown will play alongside Scottie Scheffler and Si Woo Kim in the final round of the American Express on Sunday.
How many PGA Tour events and majors will Blades Brown go on to win in his career?
He’s a seriously special talent…
The 18-year-old has already displayed incredible maturity out on the golf course in La Quinta this week.
Brown’s golf at the American Express has been hugely impressive and he will be confident of becoming the youngest winner on the PGA Tour since Charles Kocsis reigned victorious at the 1931 Michigan Open.
However, the talented young player has already equalled a PGA Tour record set by Justin Rose way back in 1998.
Blades Brown equals Justin Rose’s PGA Tour record at the American Express
Rose is one of the game’s most highly accomplished players.
He has an enviable golfing CV, with a US Open trophy, an Olympic gold medal, 26 professional victories and seven Ryder Cup appearances to his name.
The 45-year-old’s longevity has been seriously impressive.
However, his pathway into professional golf certainly wasn’t smooth sailing.
After turning pro in 1998, the Englishman missed 21 consecutive cuts and he was completely lost out on the golf course.
Rose relinquished his amateur status in 1998 after his T-4 finish at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in 1998.
Who could forget his incredible hole-out on the final green to jump inside the top four?
The 2013 US Open champion entered the final round in 1998 in fifth position, and jumped up one place after shooting a superb 69 in extremely challenging conditions.
Blades Brown is doing spectacular things at the American Express
After posting a third round 68 at the American Express on Saturday and ending the day in a tie for second, Brown equalled a 28-year PGA Tour record set by Justin Rose back in 1998.
Who do you think will win The American Express?
Will anyone be able to stop Scottie Scheffler at La Quinta?
He became the first player 18 or younger to finish inside the top-5 after three rounds of a PGA Tour event since Rose at The Open in 1998.
Stats specialist Justin Ray posted the information below on his official X account:
A stunning performance indeed from Brown at the American Express.
And the fact that he has equalled Justin Rose’s 28-year-old record really highlights just how impressive his performance has been this week.
