The 2026 American Express recently concluded at the La Quinta Country Club in the USA. After four rounds of play, Scottie Scheffler emerged victorious, claiming his 20th PGA Tour title with a total of 27 under par.

Apart from the World No. 1, the $9,200,000 event saw some of the popular Tour pros competing for the AmEx title. The field had golfers like Jason Day, Ludvig Aberg, and Wyndham Clark. Although a lot of them made it to the top 10, some golfers underperformed their odds at the 2026 American Express.


#5. Ben Griffin

Benjamin Griffin had a promising start to this PGA Tour event. The young golfer scored 9 under par 63 in the opening round, carding three eagles over the first eighteen holes. With a round 2 score of 4 under par 68, Griffin even secured his ticket to the weekend.

On Saturday, the American professional golfer carded a 3-under-par 69 in the third round. However, Griffin carded several bogeys in the final round of the American Express. Apart from the eagles and birdies, the golfer carded seven bogeys, scoring 2 under par 70. Although he ranked below Scheffler with +2000 odds (FanDuel) to win the event, Griffin tied in 24th place.


#4. Robert MacIntyre

Robert MacIntyre had a brilliant start to the American Express. The Scottish golfer, who had (+2500) odds to win this tournament (according to FanDuel), scored 63 (-9) over the first eighteen holes. MacIntyre carded ten birdies, two Eagles, and two double bogeys. It was followed by a tough second round where the golfer carded 72 (even par).

The PGA Tour pro had a brilliant round 3, where he carded five back-to-back birdies from holes 2 to 6. MacIntyre finished the third round with 67 (-5) on his scorecard. In the final round, he scored 2 under par 70. With a four-round total of 16 under par, he tied for 38th.


#3. Sam Burns

Both MacIntyre and Sam Burns had (+2500) odds of acing this year’s American Express as per FanDuel. Burns had a bogey-free opening round, scoring seven birdies, including two sets of back-to-back three birdies, and finishing Day 1 with 65 (-7). On Day 2, the golfer had a few setbacks. Burns carded seven birdies, one Eagle, two bogeys, and one double bogey, finishing with 5-under-par 67.

In the third and fourth rounds, Burns carded 4-under-par 68 and 1-under-par 71, respectively. After four rounds of play at La Quinta, the golfer carded 17 under par and tied for 27th place alongside pros like Harris English, Eric Cole, and others.


#2. Sepp Straka missed the cut at the 2026 American Express

According to FanDuel, Sepp Straka had (+3500) odds of winning at La Quinta Golf and Country Club. However, the golfer’s run at the American Express was cut short before the weekend when he missed the cut.

Straka had a rocky start to the event, carding 72 in the first round, where he scored three birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey. On Friday, the PGA Tour pro had a promising start when he opened the second round with a birdie. However, Straka’s performance went downhill as he carded three double bogeys. Ultimately, he carded a 2-over-par 74 in Round 2.


#1. Harry Hall

According to FanDuel, Harry Hall had (+3500) odds to win this year’s American Express. However, Hall finished in 24th spot in the leaderboard alongside Griffin and several other pros.

The PGA Tour pro had a rough start to the tournament at La Quinta. In the first round, Hall scored five birdies, one Eagle, one double bogey, and five bogeys, carding 72 (even par). However, Hall secured his ticket to the weekend with a second-round score of 66, carding five birdies and an Eagle. He carded 67 (-5) and 65 (-7) in the last two rounds of the event, finishing with a 72-hole total of 18 under par.
