Shedeur Sanders has been selected for the Pro Bowl as a replacement for MVP frontrunner Drake Maye. Sanders is now set to participate in the NFL’s equivalent of all-star festivities as a rookie.
However, former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko smells something fishy behind the selection.
“NFL is smart. They saw every candidate turn down Cleveland and said no coach is going there unless they have a Pro Bowl QB. Expect Cleveland to have a coaching hire soon.” Fehoko wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The former Steelers defensive tackle believes that the NFL is selecting Sanders as a Pro Bowl replacement to improve the Browns’ chance of getting a new head coach. The Browns haven’t been successful in their HC search since they fired Kevin Stefanski.
Fehoko believes most candidates aren’t attracted to the Browns’ vacancy because there’s no Pro Bowl QB on the roster. So, Shedeur Sanders earning a nod could change that in the coming weeks.
Shedeur Sanders headlines Pro Bowl replacements
Shedeur Sanders isn’t the only popular player headed to the Pro Bowl as a replacement. In fact, some household names will be at the event due to starters pulling out.
Jared Goff will feature at the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Seattle Seahawks star, Sam Darnold. This will be Goff’s fifth Pro Bowl appearance and adds to his post-Los Angeles career glow-up.
Furthermore, Dallas Cowboys players KaVontae Turpin and Jake Ferguson are headed for the Pro Bowl. Both players will serve as replacements at the event, despite the Cowboys missing the playoffs for the second straight season.
Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid will be in attendance. The promising TE is replacing Travis Kelce in the event, and he’ll fly the Bills’ flag after their divisional round elimination in the ongoing playoffs.
