Wesley Bryan confirms if LIV Golf have given him an offer to sign as a player

To an outsider, it seems slightly surprising that Wesley Bryan has never officially signed with LIV Golf.

Wesley Bryan is a unique figure in the current game. He has had success on the PGA Tour in the past, winning the RBC Heritage back in 2017.

In more recent years, the 35-year-old was generally one of the players battling to keep his full card on the tour. Bryan’s fight to make the top 125 was one of the more interesting storylines in the fall in 2024.

However, Bryan has been suspended by the PGA Tour since 2025 after taking part in the LIV Duels event.

Wesley Bryan says whether he has ever had an offer from LIV Golf

Some believe that it was right to suspend Bryan. But the decision certainly made a permanent move to LIV Golf seem much more likely, particularly with the league struggling to sign superstars.

Few players at that sort of level have a bigger profile than Bryan. His YouTube channel with his brother George has 771,000 subscribers at the time of writing.

But speaking on Dan on Golf about his suspension, Bryan revealed that there has been no serious talk about a move to LIV.

“Never once has it been offered to me to join a team, join as an individual,” he said. “The only time I got an actual offer and a phone call was to be an alternate on site after we had filmed The Duels and a couple of people got sick from one of the teams. They were like, ‘hey, are you still in town to potentially be an alternate or whatever those things are called?’ So, that’s it. I’ve had no direct conversations about being on any teams.

“Jokingly I offered Jon Rahm $1 million cash to join his team when it first got announced. Was it a joke? Maybe not, I probably would have paid it to join his team, one of my best buds. That’s about as serious a conversation as ever been had about me joining the competitive league that, again, tried to come in and take a lot of the PGA Tour players and eyeballs and spread some of the media rights thin, which they should protect their media rights. The collective group of players is what makes those media rights so valuable and that’s the biggest revenue driver for the PGA Tour.

“In my situation, I have no bearing or effect on media rights as I’m not even shown on the top telecast anyway. I’m not competitive at the top of every leaderboard like some of the ones who played a huge part in going over to LIV.”

A significant mistake from LIV Golf

LIV Golf has certainly missed a trick in not making an offer to Bryan over the last two years.

Obviously, LIV had plenty of big names make the jump when they initially launched in 2022. But as time has gone on, it has become harder and harder for the league to convince marquee names to leave the PGA Tour.

Bryan is someone who appears to get more fulfilment from the work he does on YouTube. Nevertheless, he is someone who would have brought an audience to LIV. He is a much bigger name than many of the journeymen they have signed in recent years.

LIV could have also tapped into the storyline of Bryan being treated unfairly by the PGA Tour.

It is strange, therefore, that they did not even attempt to convince him to join permanently.
