The ESPN-NFL merger is a done deal. According to Yahoo Sports, the billion-dollar agreement between the NFL and ESPN was sealed on Saturday after receiving approval from U.S. government regulators.

NFL insider Mike Florio was asked about President Donald Trump’s silence regarding the deal.

“There are ways to cozy up to him,” Florio replied in matter of fact manner.

The approval from government regulators puts to rest months of concern that President Trump might halt the deal. It’s important to note that the deal was originally announced in August 2025.

The deal will see the NFL acquire a 10% stake in ESPN from the Walt Disney Company. In exchange, the network will add NFL Network to its lineup, along with NFL RedZone and the league’s fantasy football coverage.

According to Yahoo Sports, the agreement is valued in the billions of dollars and will see the NFL and ESPN join forces on a grand scale. It is the culmination of a decades-long relationship.

As part of the deal, the affected NFL employees will reportedly become officially part of ESPN starting in April 2026, while NFL Network will be integrated into ESPN’s platforms at the start of the next regular season.

Donald Trump is skipping the NFL Super Bowl LX, calls out Bad Bunny

Donald Trump won’t be at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco for Super Bowl LX. The sitting President of the United States of America told The Post in an exclusive Oval Office interview that he is skipping the big game.

One reason for Trump’s decision is his dissatisfaction with this year’s performers, Bad Bunny and the recently added Green Day. Both are notable critics of the 45th and 47th President.

“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.” Trump said.

However, Donald Trump clarified that he’s skipping the Super Bowl not because of the performers. It’s for another reason that leans towards logistics.

“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve gotten great hands at the Super Bowl. They like me. would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.” Trump said.

Trump was in attendance at last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles sealed a 40-22 win over the two-time defending champion Chiefs in the matchup.
