$3,630,000 NBA star alleges rigging in Super Bowl as Drake Maye-led Patriots lose 29-13 to Seahawks

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold’s resurgence this season ended with the Pro Bowler winning his first Super Bowl ring as Seattle defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

Darnold, who struggled in his five years with the league, led the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-3 record in 2024. However, the Vikings didn’t bring him back for the 2025 season. He signed with the Seahawks in the offseason and led the team to their second Super Bowl win in his first season with the franchise.

However, Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua mocked Darnold’s Super Bowl win on X, writing:

“😂 Sam Darnold.”

Nacua’s comment was likely a reaction to Darnold winning a ring before Drake Maye, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. Nacua’s former Rams teammate and Seahawks linebacker, Ernest Jones, slammed the wide receiver for his comment.

“Ain’t you at home,” Jones wrote on X. “Goofy ass.”

Nacua wasn’t playing in the Super Bowl because Darnold’s team defeated the Rams 31-27 in the championship game, eliminating them from the postseason.

NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho asks Puka Nacua to “respect” Sam Darnold after Seattle’s Super Bowl win

Puka Nacua’s X post also caught the attention of former NFL player turned analyst, Emmanuel Acho. The former NFL player asked Nacua to “chill out” and respect Sam Darnold after his Super Bowl win. Acho wrote on X:

“Puka needs to chill out and give Sam Darnold his RESPECT! Sam Darnold beat Puka and then won a Super Bowl, what the heck Puka laughing for?!”

Following Sunday’s win against the Patriots, Darnold said:

“As long as you believe in yourself, anything is possible.”

The Seahawks’ win ended the Patriots’ dream of winning their first Super Bowl since Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s departure.
