“This Drake Maye tape is worse than I thought”: Ex-Packers QB claims Patriots QB was “seeing ghosts” vs. Seahawks in Super Bowl

Drake Maye’s New England Patriots suffered a 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl 60 on Sunday. Maye struggled for most of the game as he went 27 of 43 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while getting sacked six times.

While some felt that the Seahawks defense did a fine job in limiting Maye, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert slammed the Packers QB for failing to make an impact in the big game.

“This Drake Maye tape is worse than I thought. There were wide open guys everywhere even when he had time he just wasn’t seeing it. It was the definition of seeing ghosts game,” Benkert tweeted on Monday.

The Patriots did not get a point on the board in the first three quarters of the Super Bowl. The Seahawks allowed only four first downs, 51 total yards and 2.0 yards per play in the first half.

Moreover, Maye became the first QB to be sacked three times on the first four drives of a Super Bowl since former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady in Super Bowl 42 against the New York Giants.

After the Patriots’ loss to the Seahawks, Drake Maye revealed he took a pain-killing injection on his injured throwing shoulder before the Super Bowl.

“I shot it up, so not much feeling,” Maye said of his shoulder. “It was good to go, and it felt all right.”

However, Maye didn’t blame his shoulder issue for his performance at the big game
