“Just hard to pull the trigger” – Min Woo Lee responds to slow-play criticism amid tough AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am conditions

Min Woo Lee had a tough time closing the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as the conditions worsened. As a result, he took a lot of time to finish the final hole, which drew a few boos from the crowd.

On Saturday, February 14, Min Woo Lee carded a 2-under 70 in the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to finish at 14-under. The Australian star could have finished much better if not for the bogeys on the final two holes. The par-5 18th was worse, where his wayward drive resulted in the ball landing in a bush on the right side of the fairway.

Following this, Lee had to take a drop, and then his third shot found a bunker. Furthermore, the wind on the green was so heavy that he took all his time to make the 10-footer and eventually two-putted for a bogey.

During his post-round interview, Min Woo Lee reflected on the 18th-hole mishap.

“I mean, the ball is, I understand I have to hit the putt but when the ball is full oscillating, it’s just hard to pull the trigger,” he told Paul Hodowanic of PGA Tour. “When there’s big gusts coming, it’s just tough. I want to, it’s just so hard to do that. Those last two holes were pretty breezy, I don’t know, tomorrow is going to be tough so yeah, it is what it is.”

The 27-year-old admitted that the conditions affected his putting.

“Oh, yeah, I hit it 6 feet past. You expect the wind to be blowing and then it doesn’t, it doesn’t blow and then you just hit it way past. So yes, it’s very tough,” he continued.

However, Min Woo Lee felt he played a decent round barring the last two holes and backed his skills for the final day’s action.

“Yeah, the last few tournaments have been very calm so it is somewhat new to us, this wind,” he said .”So, yeah, we’ll probably hit a few shots after today and get ready for tomorrow.”
