Wide receiver A.J. Brown’s 2025 season with the Philadelphia Eagles was filled with drama. He came forward multiple times to complain about not being targeted enough on the field by quarterback Jalen Hurts. He ended the regular season with 1,003 yards and seven TDs receiving while they finished with a wild-card round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
After the season ended, rumors appeared about a potential trade involving Brown. According to NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah, thePittsburgh Steelers, who are worth $6.5 billion (as per Forbes), could trade with the Eagles and acquire the three-time All-Pro to bolster their WR room.
“If A.J. Brown were to become available, if there’s a market other wide receivers that ended up on the trade market, they’ve done this once with DK (Metcalf),” Jeremiah said on Saturday on ‘Move the Sticks’ podcast.
“They could very easily parlay one of those third-round picks and try to free another wide receiver from somewhere else, whether that’s D.J. Moore, whoever else might pop on the trade market.”

A.J. Brown began his NFL journey with the Tennessee Titans back in 2019. He spent three seasons with them and recorded 2,995 yards and 24 TDs receiving. He was traded to the Eagles in 2022 and agreed to a four-year, $100 million deal.
In 2024, Brown was given a three-year extension worth $96 million. That season, he recorded 1,079 yards and seven TDs receiving while the Eagles went on to win Super Bowl LIX.
On the other hand, the Steelers are also marking the start of a new chapter this upcoming season. Last month, Mike Tomlin resigned as the coach after 19 seasons. He helped the team reach the playoffs. During this stint, he led the team to two Super Bowl appearances, including a victory in Super Bowl XLIII.
A few days after Tomlin’s resignation, the Steelers named Mike McCarthy as his replacement. His previous stint was as the coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 2020 to 2024, where he put up a 49-35 overall record.

A.J. Brown shares his thoughts about his future with the Philadelphia Eagles
With the trade window opening in March, A.J. Brown has been one of the top players whose name has been in the rumor mill.
Last Sunday, on “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” the wide receiver shared his stance on his future with the Eagles.
“When I got to Philly, Philly welcomed me with open arms,” Brown said. “You know, that’s home, and I love them. I love the support. I love the accountability. I love everything else that they do. But Philly is Philly.
“As an offense, we need to come back and watch the tape and rediscover ourselves and go to work each and every day. Being accountable and taking it one day at a time.”
A.J. Brown still has one year remaining on his three-year, $96 million deal. Will the Eagles decide to retain him for the 2026 season?
