PGA Tour winner Michael S. Kim reacted to Tiger Woods’ comment about a possible return to play. The 15-time major winner has been away from the greens for over a year now. He last played in The Open Championship 2024.
Fans are anxiously waiting for his return to the greens, and this week he is hosting the Genesis Invitational, a signature PGA Tour event. Ahead of the start of the event, Woods attended a pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday. He was asked about his possible return and also if the Masters is “off the table” for him.
“No,” he replied.
The PGA Tour shared a video of Tiger Woods from the press conference on its X (formerly Twitter) account. Kim reacted to it by reposting the post on his social media handle with a caption in which he invited the five-time Masters winner for practice at Augusta National.
“Heeyyyyy @TigerWoods, practice round Tuesday at Augusta? Lol But seriously…” Kim wrote.
Tiger Woods last played at the Masters in 2024. He started his campaign at the major with an opening round of 73 and then played the next three rounds of 72, 82, and 77. He settled in 60th place in the tournament.
Tiger Woods opens up about potential return

In the press conference on Wednesday, Tiger Woods was also asked when he would be returning to play on the PGA Tour or Champions Tour. In response, he said:
“Well, I’m trying, put it that way.”
Woods further talked about his surgery and recovery.
“Well, the disc replacement has been one thing,” Woods said. “It’s been a challenge to — I’ve had a fused back and now a disc replacement, so it’s challenging. And now I entered a new decade, so that number is starting to sink in and has us thinking about the opportunity to be able to play in a cart.
“That’s something that, as I said, I won’t do out here on this tour because I don’t believe in it. But on the Champions Tour, that’s certainly that opportunity,” he added.
The American golfer underwent lumbar disc replacement surgery back in October and has been recovering from it since then. Notably, Woods celebrated his 50th birthday in December 2025 and is now also eligible to play on the Champions Tour. It would be interesting to see when he will come back to playing on the greens.
Meanwhile, this week, PGA Tour players will compete at the Genesis Invitational, which is scheduled to start with its opening round on Thursday, Feb. 19, and will have its final round on Sunday, Feb. 22. The Masters 2026 will take place from April 9 to 12, 2026.
