North Carolina Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick has been rumored to be potentially making a comeback to the NFL. However, last month, he put these rumors to rest, stating that he plans to stay at Chapel Hill.

On Thursday, during an appearance on the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” NFL analyst Steve Fezzik took a shot at Belichick and his potential return to the league. He highlighted the league’s demanding schedule while questioning the UNC coach’s ability to keep up with the requirements.

Fezzik also took a jab atBelichick’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, which has been a bigger topic than his debut UNC campaign.

“If there’s one lesson, people are going to get angry at me here, if I took from the past offseason is that, once a coach is in their 70s, I don’t care how youthful they appear. I don’t care if they have a 24-year-old girlfriend, proceed with caution,” Fezzik said.

“We saw that will Bill Belichick and North Carolina and Pete Carroll with the Raiders. Let me ask you, … how many hours does a good NFL coach have to put in during a week? I would imagine 70. Is someone in their 70s really capable of that?”

Despite high expectations, Belichick did not have a successful debut with the Tar Heels. He helped them to a 4-8 campaign with just two wins in the ACC conference. However, during an interview with SiriusXM last month, the eight-time Super Bowl champion said that he’s focused on continuing to build the program.

“Nothing’s changed,” Belichick said. “I’m where I was a month ago. I’m here at North Carolina. … We’re building a good program and I’m excited about the direction we’re headed in.”

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel shares his thoughts on Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub

Bill Belichick coached the Patriots for 24 seasons. During this stint, he led them to six Super Bowl championships and established a legacy. However, despite this achievement, the UNC coach was snubbed as a first Ballot Hall of Fame.

As per reports, Belichick failed to receive the 80% required threshold of votes to make the cut in his first year of eligibility. Current Patriots coach Mike Vrabel came forward to share his thoughts on the situation.

“I’m confident Bill will get in,” Vrabel said in a press conference before Super Bowl LX. “I don’t know the process, I know that everybody’s talking about the process. And however, the vote needs to go, I know Bill is a Hall of Fame coach.”

Vrabel ended his first year with the Patriots with a Super Bowl loss to the Seahawks.

On the other hand, Bill Belichick will be looking to improve in his 4-8 debut in his second-year with UNC.
