Amanda Balionis squeezed in a tough gym session before heading to the course for Round 3 of the 2026 Genesis Invitational, giving fans a quick look at her routine on social media.
The CBS reporter who is covering the tournament at Riviera Country Club, shared two Instagram Stories on Saturday showing how she spends her off-air time during a busy broadcast week. In the first clip Amanda Balionis is seen working out on a leg press machine in an all-black training outfit. She joked about the intensity of the session, writing:
“New level of hell unlocked and I’m obsessed.”
She later posted a mirror selfie while heading out for coverage, again dressed in black but this time layered with a coat. Alongside the photo, she wrote:
“Let’s go have a day! See you all from gorgeous Riviera on a perfect SoCal day with a stacked leaderboard @golfcbs.”

Amanda Balionis has been on site all week as the Genesis Invitational dealt with difficult weather early on. Heavy rain forced several delays during the opening round before the schedule finally caught up in time for the weekend.
This is just another event in a very busy schedule for Amanda Balionis. She previously covered the Farmers Insurance Open, the WM Phoenix Open and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in consecutive weeks.
Amanda Balionis reacts after Collin Morikawa shares major personal news
Amanda Balionis was part of a special moment at Pebble Beach when Collin Morikawa revealed big personal news during his winner’s interview.
Balionis had just asked why the victory meant so much, and Morikawa responded by sharing that he and his wife are expecting their first child later this year.
Morikawa said the timing made the win even more emotional for him.
“A lot of reasons. Put golf aside, we’re actually expecting later this year, in a few months. We just started telling people this week,” he said.
“We said what a better way, the best way, to just announce it to the world if I was able to come out and win. There’s so much to life, there’s so much to enjoy, and I’m hard on myself like I talked about yesterday, but I’m just so thankful for the people around me. My team, Kat, my wife, my parents, my brother. I’m speechless right now.”
Amanda Balionis later shared her reaction on social media, noting how rare it is to see something like that happen during a trophy ceremony.
“We have had a lot of special winning moments over the years… but a baby announcement as a part of the celebration is a first 🥹😍 A huge congratulations to @collin_morikawa on an epic performance at Pebble Beach that-as a California kid- means even more. And an even bigger celebration is in order as he and @katherine_morikawa prepare to welcome their first child later this year. Thank you for letting us in on this special moment set against the most legendary backdrop 🌊 ⛳️.”
Morikawa first met his wife, Katherine Zhu, in 2017 while they were both playing college golf, he at the University of California, Berkeley, and she at Pepperdine University. Zhu is also a former golfer and marathon runner.
