Brett Favre calls out Roger Goodell’s NFL over shift in engagement strategy amid Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show

Brett Favre calls out Roger Goodell

NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre went in on the league for what he considers has been a shift in the competition’s direction. The Green Bay Packers legend, who played 20 seasons in the league, doesn’t think that it is targeting the same people they used to about a decade ago.

Appearing on Tomi Lahren’s OutKick show this week, Favre agreed with the host when she said the league changed its approach during the time Colin Kaepernick started protesting during the national anthem.

“I think there probably is some truth to that. Why that has changed, I really don’t know,” Favre said. “Because I think your general football audience is people like you and I. Maybe loves football, or maybe is a casual, fair-weather fan, but it is the biggest show in town. So you watch it, you know, you watch the halftime show and who sang the national anthem. You know, that’s been that way for a long time.

“But you’re right, you know, in the last maybe 10 years, maybe a little longer, there’s been a slight shift. For whatever reason, I have no idea, because you want to appeal to your true fans. And it doesn’t seem like that is the case anymore.”

Favre hasn’t understood some decisions in recent years, including Bad Bunny’s selection to perform at Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show. He opted to watch Kid Rock performing at Turning Point USA’s alternate show.

Brett Favre shares feelings about POTUS Donald Trump

During his appearance on Lahren’s show, Favre also praised President Donald Trump for helping America become the best version of itself, while touching on how unfiltered the politician can be at times.

“President Trump, as you know, tells it like it is and holds nothing back,” Favre said. “I think at times, that gets him in hot water. But the thing is, he doesn’t care. He loves his country, and I think it’s so obvious, because, he’s doing what he’s doing now, when he can go ride off into the sunset and play golf at Mar-A- Lago, and the heck with everyone else.”

Brett Favre has never shied away from controversy, either. He has been a vocal supporter of Trump, which doesn’t seem to be changing soon.
