Tyler Shough has what it takes to be the New Orleans Saints’ new franchise QB, at least according to one of his teammates.
Star edge rusher Cam Jordan recently told TMZ Sports:
“I think with him, there could be a bright future. And hopefully he can continue to build upon that process that we showed last year.”
He also expressed hope that the incoming second-year player could take the franchise back to the playoffs for the first time in the post-Drew Brees and Sean Payton era:

“Ain’t nobody in the whole offseason, like man, I hope we just win three games. I’ll leave that to the (New York) Jets.”
In his NFL debut, Shough played in 11 games, going 5-4 as a starter. He completed 67.6% of his passing attempts for ten touchdowns against six interceptions and also rushed 45 times for another 186 yards and three scores.

Drew Brees gives glowing endorsement of Saints QB Tyler Shough
It is not just current players who are loving what Tyler Shough can bring to the Saints – at least one former player also has praise for him: none other than Drew Brees himself.
In a recent exclusive interview for Bleacher Report, the former franchise quarterback said about the youngster:
“The biggest thing I noticed, and this comes from talking with him as well, is there is a level of maturity for a young guy. Having seven years in college with the injuries helped him develop toughness and a sense of gratitude.”
He continued:
“What I see is a big, tall athlete who can make all the throws. When he scrambles, he can step up into the pocket, which is pretty unique for young guys. He steps up in the middle of the pockets. … That opens up a lot of opportunities for him. He’s also got a pretty calm demeanor about him, the moment isn’t too big for him.”
The new league year will commence on March 11.
